What can we Know?
Parmenides belongs to the group of philosophers that see the nature of the material world is best understood by Reason alone.
The Goddess to Parmenides:
"You must learn all things, both the motionless heart of well-rounded truth and also the opinions of mortals, in which there is no true reliability but nevertheless you shall learn these things also - how one should go through all the things-that-appear, without exception, and test them."(Quoted in Sextus Empiricus "Against the Mathematicians" VII 111)
